How You Can Help!

Event: International Day of Peace

International Day of Peace

Ganga Action Parivar joins the United Nations in celebrating a variety of holidays each year that allow us to reflect on the important issues worldwide and how we can join together to help! On September 21, 2014, we will be celebrating the UN International Day of Peace. The United Nations General Assembly has declared that “this [is] a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples” (United Nations).

The theme of this year’s upcoming International Day of Peace is the “Right of Peoples to Peace.” Ganga Action Parivar is committed to the rights of people throughout the world. The Ganga, which supports over 500 million people throughout India and beyond, is polluted by nearly 3 billion litres of sewage and chemical waste every day. Her rights are being violated, and in turn, an individuals right to clean water are violated. People are getting sick. Children are dying. It’s time we say no more. Ganga has the right to flow in Her clean, pristine form. Ganga’s Rights are Our Rights.

Join Ganga Action Parivar in supporting human and environmental rights this International Day of Peace!
